Suryan Chandrasegaran is a registered tax agent and an accountant who has been in public practice as an accountant since 1999.
After completing his secondary schooling in Perth, Suryan obtained Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Law degrees from Monash University, Melbourne, in the early 1990’s.
Beginning his career in Advisings in the Australian Taxation Office, he obtained his Masters of Taxation degree from the University of New South Wales, Sydney. He then gained valuable experience in tax and superannuation law while working for a large national law firm in Perth. He then worked as a public accountant for a regional firm in Victoria before establishing Albury Accounting after moving to the Albury region in 2013.
He has gained a broad range of tax and accounting experience dealing with different clients including individuals, farmers, small and medium businesses and self-managed superannuation funds. He has prepared financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and self-managed superannuation funds, as well as personal tax returns.
Suryan is also a practising solicitor, and is the principal solicitor of Albury Legal Pty Ltd, a law firm which operates from the same premises as Albury Accounting Pty Ltd.
Suryan is a Fellow of the National Tax & Accountants’ Association.
He is the current Treasurer of the Albury and District Law Society. He is a past Treasurer of the Murray Conservatorium of Music and the Women’s Life Centre Inc.
He enjoys spending time with his wife and children, and playing badminton.
